Cincinnati Reds, Baseball and a Beer
12. Go to a Reds game.
I went to a Cincinnati Reds game last week on the 4th and actually ended up being on the jumbotron! Not until the next day, but still, I’ll take what I can get. I went with my roomie, her boyfriend and a friend of ours. I hadn’t been to a Reds game in years. I was completely overwhelmed by how much I wanted to eat everything while I was there. I think it’s the subliminal messaging that makes everyone want a beer, peanuts and a snow cone. Either that or I really was junk food binging that night.
The game was exciting enough. LaRosa’s made a deal with the Reds that if the pitcher throws 11 strikeouts then each ticket holder can have a free small pizza. It’s a great deal, and it has happened a few times. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen that night. The Reds didn’t win, but the atmosphere was still hopeful. I forgot how much I like sporting events. It’s usually more about who you’re with, not the game itself.
The main things I enjoyed were Todd Frazier, the atmosphere and the view (I love Todd Frazier mainly because his batting song is “Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra, but he’s a decent player as well). We were in the nosebleed section, but we were sitting behind home plate so it wasn’t so bad. One day I’d like to splurge and get a box seat, but until I’m rich the nosebleed section is rather welcoming.
