Weddings Rule!

I love weddings. I get emotional and cry every time the bride and groom say their vows but I bust out a move and dance my butt off at the reception. I genuinely love weddings because of what they represent. I know, I’m becoming more like Jess in New Girl everyday. Two of my close friends are getting married today and I could not be happier for them. They are a couple that truly love each other and deserve the wedding of their dreams. Without getting too corny, I’m glad that I get to see them tie the knot. My date will be my (platonic) best friend, so that takes the plus one pressure off my plate, thankfully. I’m also glad, but I know he likes to dance so I will have an energetic dance partner!

Weddings are events that are filled with endless possibilities. Dating someone and want to make it serious? Invite them to a wedding. Single and ready to mingle? Hit on a bridesmaid or groomsmen at the wedding. Want to rekindle an old flame? Dance with them at the wedding. Want to drink and party? Hit the bar and dance to Cotton Eyed Joe and make a complete spectacle of yourself. There’s a reason why many movies center around weddings. They’re a source of entertainment and they represent so much. My favorite wedding moments are the vows, the first dance, the father daughter dance and of course the people who get crazy after hitting the bar. An honorable mention would be the cake. Will the sharing of the cake be civil or barbaric? I love to guess.

I love getting dressed up and putting an outfit together. Ordinarily, I would have hunted for a new dress and shoes, but I’ve decided to be “good” and wear a dress that I haven’t worn yet but resides in my closet for emergencies such as these. Also, is it just me ladies, or do you always feel like wearing black to weddings? I’m not in mourning, so why so glum?

Sorry that I I haven’t written in awhile, I wanted to post a little something here for my friends and their big day. It’s my bday next week so I will have a lot of free time hopefully, so entries are on their way, whoot! Be on the lookout, I’m seeing Mockingjay ( Third movie in the Hunger Games series) on Thursday and will be reviewing it on my birthday next Friday.
